To abort forcefully running or failed ADOP session manually in R12.2.4

This error i faced recently , one of the older patch session was failed and was not getting aborted.
I tried
adop phase=abort
adop phase=apply abandon=yes patches=123456

nothing worked. Then i tried following workaround ,and guess what i came out of failing  adop_session_id and my patch cycle again started working normally.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Take a backup copy of the table ad_adop_sessions.

2) Connect to sqlplus as user apps and run
SQL> update ad_adop_sessions 
set abort_status = 'Y', 
status = 'C' 
where adop_session_id = 36; 

3) Then try to start a new adop session with
$ adop phase = prepare

Note: Try above only after trying all possiblities.

Solution -

1) cd $APPL_TOP/admin

2) vi adovars.env

Following two are pointing to some other path,

Change it as mentioned below

XXTA_TOP=/u06/TEST/TEST/appl/xxta/11.5.0

IZU_TOP=/u06/TEST/TEST/appl/izu/11.5.0

3) cd $FND_TOP/resource

vi pasta.cfg

Following variable is pointing to some other path,change it as per working environment

displayfontpath=/u06/TEST/TEST/appl/fnd/11.5.0/resource/ALBANYWT.ttf

4) Bounce the Application

5) Retest the issue

AFPASSWD (New password utility) in EBS 12.1.3 and 12.2.4

Conceptual comparision with FNDCPASS

In R12.1.1 and before oracle EBS Versions EBS passwords are changed using FNDCPASS. From R12.1.2 Oracle has come up with another Utility AFPASSWD for the same purpose.

AFPASSWD help: AFPASSWD -h (Displays help)

Advantages

1. AFPASSWD utility can be run from DB tier or from Midtierwhere but FNDCPASS can only be run from midtier side.
2. AFPASSWD is an enhanced version of FNDCPASS, and includes the following features: 

• AFPASSWD only prompts for passwords required for the current operation,allowing separation of duties between applications administrators and database administrators.

• Improved interoperability with Oracle Database Vault.In contrast, the FNDCPASS utility currently requires specification of the APPS and the SYSTEM usernames and corresponding passwords, preventing separation of duties between applications administrators and database administrators.

AFPASSWD Usage(Detailed)When changing a password with AFPASSWD, the user is prompted to enter the New password twice to confirm. 

SYNTAX -

• AFPASSWD [-c <APPSUSER>[@<TWO_TASK>]] [-o <DBUSER>]

• AFPASSWD [-c <APPSUSER>[@<TWO_TASK>]] [-s] <APPLSYS>

These options have the following functions:

• -c {APPSUSER}[@{TWO_TASK}] - Specifies the connection string to use, the Applications user, and/or the value of TWO_TASK. This option can be use in combination with others. If it is not specified, default values from the environment will be used.  Note: The password will be prompted for, and is not to be provided in the connection string.

• f {FNDUSER} - Changes the password for an Applications user. A username that contains spaces must be enclosed in double quotation marks; for example, "JOHNSMITH".

• -o {DBUSER} - Changes the password for an Oracle E-Business Suite database user.Note: This only applies to users listed in the FND_ORACLE_USERID table, not database users in general.

• -a - Changes all Oracle (ALLORACLE) passwords (except the passwords of APPS, APPLSYS, APPLSYSPUB) to the same password, in the same way as the ALLORACLE mode does in FNDCPASS.

• -l - Locks individual {ORACLE_USER} users (except required schema). {TRUE} =LOCK, {FALSE} = UNLOCK.

• -L - Locks all Oracle (ALLORACLE) users (except required schema). {TRUE} =LOCK, {FALSE} = UNLOCK.

• -s {APPLSYS} - Changes the password for the APPLSYS user and the APPS user. This requires the execution of auto config (in ALL-TIERS) to distribute the changes on your instance .i.e: DB-TIER and ADMIN-TIER.

Error : RC-50208: Exception in method TimedProcessProcess.run while running adcfgclone appsTier

PROBLEM:

I faced following error when running adcfgclone appsTier for ebs run file system on r12.2.4.

ERROR:
fmw_home/webtier not created.

RC-50208: Exception in method TimedProcessProcess.run
Raised by oracle.apps.ad.util.TimedProcess$TimedProcessProcess: java.io.IOException: Cannot run program /fs2/FMW_Home/webtier/perl/bin/perl”: error=2, No such file or directory
script returned:

SOLUTION:

The FMW_Home.jar file isn’t generated successfully.

One can check the FMW_Home.jar file size about source and target system. This file should be in the $COMMON_TOP/clone/FMW directory.

1. Execute the pre-clone command again on source system.

2. Copy FMW_Home.jar file from the source to the target.

3. rerun adcfgclone

How to Compile CUSTOM.pll in 11i and R12? FRM-40735: ON-ERROR trigger unhandled exception ORA-06508

Use following Command as per your environment

For R12

For 11i

Issue -     FRM-40735: ON-ERROR trigger unhandled exception ORA-06508

Cause -      CUSTOM.pll is changed or got corrupted 

Solution -
1. Change the directory to $AU_TOP/resource
2. Restore the last Working CUSTOM.pll and compile it using the above mentioned command.
3. It will generate CUSTOM.plx (Both should be under $AU_TOP/resource)
4. Retest the issue.
